Farvel, Sønderborg!

Farvel, Sønderborg! That is, farewell, Sønderborg (see you soon!)

On Friday June 3rd our jib shadowing at Sønderskov-Skolen finished.

This last day was great. We were at the school library, where we met students who go there to read and we met a nice boy with Soanish parents who arrived there two years beforeand now he speaks Danish and a bit of English and German. Reslly amazing! One of the children read for me a piece of a Hans C. Andersen tale and that made me very happy.

Then my collegue and I has the chance to make our presentation for the 8a class students, who behaved themselves perfectly well and asked many questions, including one about Latin and romanic languages. They were surprised about our school library being so small, because the have great facilities at Sønderborg. They also enjoyed the short film “LOVE”, produced by a student from INS Lluís Companys (Arnau Jové) and we had a discussions about the film.

Later, we had to make some paperwork with Hayssan, as our stay was about to finish. And he gave the four of us a present: a book with shirt stories of their students, which you can borrow in the municipal library, whixh also includes shirt films (theough QR codes), since the students adapted some of the short stories into short films. I loved that project, very similar to the peojecte we do at the subject “Foment de la lectura i la comunicació”.

And there came the time for goodbye... But first we went to Ulla’s place (Ulla is the school library coordinator) to have a Spanish and Catalan meal altogether: han, Spanish onelette, bread woth tomato (pa amb tomàquet)... I thibk both Ulla and Hayssan enjoyed this meal as well a receiving sime oresents fron our schools. We gave them some handmade tote bags with the logo of our school library (the whale with the words “Endinsa’t en la lectura”, that is, “Immerse into reading”). And, finally, sadly, we said goodbye..., because I felt in some way we also becane part of the Sønderskov-Skolen family.
